The sixteenth edition of Festival della Comunicazione e del Cinema Archeologico (now “Festival”) is held in Licodia Eubea and Catania from Tuesday 1^th to Sunday 6^th Dicember 2026. The Festival is organized by the Associazione Culturale Archeovisiva (now “Organization”), whose office is in 10, San Martino st., 95040 Licodia Eubea, FN: 91029870879. 

Except when derogations are given, documentaries and film of every nationality may be presented, in compliance with the following conditions:

1. They have been produced since 2022; works already shown at previous editions of the “Festival” will not be accepted;
2. Thematic or animation documentaries, films, mid-length films and short films may be registered, whose arguments concern archaeological, historical, paletnological, natural, anthropological research and/or the protection and valorization of cultural property. The entered film can have any duration.

You can submit a film through the Film Freeway platform. Submission requires a fee, as specified on the website.

Each author must fill in the Entry Form provided by the Organization or downloaded from the official website of the “Festival” (www.rassegnalicodia.it).

It is possible to enter more than one work by filling out an entry form for a single film.

The deadlines for submitting a film through Film Freeway are:

• March 11 – August 30, 2026 (regular deadline)
• September 1 – September 30, 2026 (late deadline)
• October 1 – October 31, 2026 (final deadline)

The artistic direction of the festival may grant extensions.

The application dossier must consist of:

• Completed and signed Entry Form;
• A photo of the director;
• Three photos or frames of the film;
• A biography of the director (max. 450 characters) in English;
• The full script of the film preferably in Italian or, if this is not possible, in English or French (only for films in a language other than Italian);
• The synopsis of the film (max. 500 characters) in English.
• Movie file in one of the following formats, in order of preference:
  Full HD resolution 1920×1080 – 25p/50p
  H.264 or HEVC (H.265) bitrate between 16 and 25 Mbps;
  4K resolution 3840×2160 – H.264 or HEVC (H.265) format bitrate between 35 and 60 Mbps.

Registered films are selected by the Art Directors of the “Organization”, who are the sole responsible for the programming and the calendar of the event. The selection is incontestable.
